Verging Labs Privacy Notice
Last updated: September 7, 2026
MatGen Creations Inc., doing business as Verging Labs ("we" or "us"), operates verginglabs.com and Verging Memory CI. We use personal information to respond to requests, deliver our services and understand how people use them. We do not sell personal information. You can manage analytics through Cookie settings in the website footer and contact us at legal@verginglabs.com about your information.
1. What we collect and why
Requests and communications. When you request an assessment, recommend a tool or contact us, we collect the contact details and information you provide about your tool, setup or question. We use them to evaluate the request, reply and provide support. Personalized Tool Guidance declarations are retained so repeat submissions can show how your declared setup has changed.
Email updates. If you sign up for updates, we record your email address, consent, signup source and subscription preferences. We use these to send the updates you requested and honour unsubscribes.
Customer accounts and payments. We collect business contact details, account and authentication information, service settings and billing records to provide Memory CI, secure accounts and administer subscriptions. Stripe processes payments. We receive transaction and subscription information and limited payment-method details, but do not store full card numbers or security codes.
Website and service usage. We and our providers process IP addresses, browser and device information, referring pages, activity, timestamps and diagnostic or security logs. We use this information to operate and protect our services, troubleshoot problems and understand usage. Cookies and analytics are explained below.
Public measurements. Our benchmarks and telemetry use public service metadata, test observations and public blockchain information used for provenance. We may publish these through the website, reports or machine-readable interfaces. Public information can still identify a person. Providers may contact us to request a correction.
Information may also come from your organization's representative, an integration you authorize or a provider helping us deliver these services.
2. Cookies and analytics
We use PostHog and Google Analytics to understand website use. Where we require consent, analytics cookies and local storage stay off until you accept. Elsewhere, analytics may start under this notice with an opt-out through Cookie settings. If we cannot determine your region, we ask first.
Without analytics storage enabled, PostHog may still send usage events using in-memory identification, without storing an analytics identifier on your device. Once enabled, PostHog can store an identifier in a cookie and local storage and Google Analytics can set its analytics cookies. Our website configuration disables Google Signals and advertising personalization.
| Storage | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
vl_consent | Remembers your cookie choice | 180 days |
PostHog ph_* cookie | Connects visits for analytics | Up to 180 days, renewable with use |
| PostHog local storage | Stores analytics identification and preferences | Until cleared by withdrawal or browser controls; it has no automatic browser expiry |
Google Analytics _ga and _ga_* cookies | Distinguish visitors and sessions for analytics | Normally up to two years, renewable with use; browser limits may shorten this |
You can change or withdraw your choice through Cookie settings in the footer. Withdrawal disables analytics storage and clears the analytics identifiers managed by our consent controls. We treat Global Privacy Control as a refusal of analytics storage. Account and checkout services may also use storage needed for authentication, security and payments. Blocking necessary storage can prevent those services from working.
3. Customer test data
This notice covers website, account, billing, support and similar personal information. The Memory CI Terms of Service govern Customer Content and Private CI Results, including their permitted use and retention.
Do not submit personal information, production end-user data or sensitive or regulated data through CI test submissions or staging environments. We may delete prohibited data and stop the affected processing. A separate data-processing agreement applies where agreed with a customer. Memory CI is a business service.
4. Who receives information
We use providers for hosting, security, analytics, communications, support and payments, including PostHog, Google Analytics and Stripe. They may process personal information to provide their services to us, subject to applicable contractual and legal protections. We also share information with integrations or recipients you authorize.
We may disclose information to professional advisers or in a business transaction under appropriate protections or where needed to comply with law, resolve disputes or protect people and the service.
We are based in Canada. Information may be processed in Canada, the United States and other countries where our providers operate. It may be accessible to authorities under those countries' laws.
5. How long we keep information
We retain information for as long as needed to fulfil the purposes described here, maintain security and business records, meet legal obligations and resolve disputes. We delete, anonymize or overwrite it when it is no longer needed, including through normal backup cycles.
Email-list information is kept until you unsubscribe or the list ends, with records retained as needed to honour your opt-out. Earlier wallet-verified reviews and provider claims remain in storage but are no longer displayed; you can request removal or correction. The Terms separately address retention of CI test data and reports.
6. Your choices and requests
You can unsubscribe using the link in an update or by contacting us. Necessary service, billing and security messages may continue.
Subject to applicable law, you can ask what personal information we hold, how we use or disclose it, request access or correction, withdraw consent or make a complaint. We may need to verify your identity. If a legal exception limits a request, we will explain it as required by law.
Our Privacy Lead is Matt Overing. Contact legal@verginglabs.com. We investigate privacy complaints; you may also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or another privacy regulator responsible for your jurisdiction.
7. Security and updates
We use administrative, technical and physical safeguards appropriate to the information. No system is completely secure. Our services are not intended for children and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
We will update this notice when our practices change, show the new date and provide additional notice or obtain consent where required.
